With fifth place in the American GP, ​​Miguel Oliveira rose to 14th in the championship, with 16 points.

Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) was “satisfied” because he “started the season” with fifth place in the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas, returning to the race after injury.

Starting from 15th place on the grid, the Portuguese driver was already eighth at the end of the first session, finishing fifth.

“The race had many incidents due to accidents and wind. We knew from the “heat”. [sessão de aquecimento em que foi o terceiro mais rápido] that the conditions will be tough”, explained Oliveira, admitting that it was “difficult not to fall in the first two legs”.

Since then, the Portuguese has found a “free ride”, thanking the team for giving him “a fast bike and a good job”.

“It’s a small victory to be able to finish fifth on a track that doesn’t suit me well. But it was the first race with Aprilia that I was able to finish. So I’m happy that my season starts like this,” he said. , after sitting out the Argentine GP, the previous race, due to an injury caused by a collision with Marc Márquez (Honda) at the Portuguese GP, the opening race of the season.
