The RTX 4070 has already hit the market and is described as the best performance / price graphics card in recent years. Despite the recommended price of 599$, in Portugal it is a graphics card that costs between 680€ and 800€. Do you think it is too expensive? Well, NVIDIA has a new proposal, which seems to be able to offer a very similar level of performance to the RTX 3070 Ti, at a frankly lower price.
RTX 4060 Ti aims for 450~500€!
So, after the RTX 4070, it’s time to welcome the RTX 4060 Ti! A graphics card that should hit the market next May, with a recommended price 150$ lower compared to the RTX 4070 that just hit the shelves, and 350$ lower compared to the more powerful RTX 4070 Ti, which originally would be introduced as RTX 4080 12GB.
Having said all that, the RTX 4060 Ti is based on the AD106 GPU, but it doesn’t have access to the full potential of the chip. Which in turn means 4352 CUDA cores instead of the potential 4608 cores available on the GPU. However, it’s a graphics card that might make my enthusiasts turn up their noses at its VRAM memory system. In addition to the fact that it comes with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory (18 Gbps), which seems insufficient for the new generation of games, we also have the fact that the bus is limited to 128-bit, which of course seriously affects the bandwidth available.
Still, NVIDIA seems to be banking on a graphics card that can stay between the RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti, at a lower price, while consuming less power and heating up less. Which together with DLSS 3.0 can mean an incredible level of performance for the price.
But… 8GB and 128-bit? In 2023 it smells like low-end rather than mid-range. I don’t know if I’m convinced. Also, what do you think of all this? Are you interested? Share your opinion with us in the comment box below.
