So, thanks to the latest innovation, the recipient can read the caption and understand the intent of the files being sent. According to WABetaInfoWhatsApp beta v2.23.8.22 adds the ability to add custom descriptions to forwarded files.
Apparently, users will be able to get rid of the automatically generated file description by WhatsApp and add their own text as a description for uploaded files. Although this custom WhatsApp description feature works similarly to file captions, the new description will be sent as a separate message. All with your own description to the recipient, who will receive documents, images, videos or other types of files. This will also help the recipient understand that it does not belong in the original message.
Allowing additional descriptions to be added to the sent message will help improve the understanding of the sent multimedia file. The feature is reportedly enabled by default when the latest beta version of WhatsApp is installed.
This will serve the same purpose of not having to repeat things to all recipients. This new feature is said to be gradually rolling out to beta users and is available via the Google Play Store. However, users have reported facing issues like not seeing updates and status issues while downloading videos.
